One Idea:
Work is Easy – Retirement is Hard.Â
As you look at calendar for coming week, what % of your time was owned & set by you and your desires?
Once you account for prepping kids for day, your workday, post work day kids activities, grocery shopping and meal prepping and eating, getting kids to bed, and maybe have time to watch a show interested in. Day Done.
Not that any of this is bad, but lets face it, during our working & kid raising years, our time is consumed. We have very little flexibility to be creative when thinking about our time, what inspires us, what areas of our life we want to grow & freedom to build our schedule to satisfy that vision.
And, newsflash, even if we did have the time, most of us would have no idea what that vision is for them or how to take steps in achieving it. As a result, we keep working. There is a lot of fear to motivate us to keep working. Fear of not having enough money, fear of losing work identify, and fear of losing your social connections.
Yeah, continuing to work is just easier.
One Question:
When you were growing up, what were all the things you were excited about, and never did?
One Exercise:
During the next week, think about & write down all the things that excited you when young & excite you now. All things you wanted to do, but didn’t. All the ideas you had, but didn’t have time to do, or felt they were foolish. Little things. Big things. Silly things. Serious things. Get it all out & down on paper. Let it soak in.
